AEDIL Dairy CoVE ACADEMY

Introduction

19-23 June 2023

The key to maintaining the role of dairy in sustainable and healthy diet is ensuring holistic scientific approaches which cover the entire food system.  Any future food system will only function if it leads to diets that are not only healthy and sustainable, but also affordable, safe for all, and accepted.

This online symposium aims to bringing the dairy science community together, as the future food system will need to be created with input from many disciplines to future-proof the role of dairy in this future food system, where the primary aim is to supply nutrition to billions of consumers world-wide via a balanced nutrient-rich diet.

The Dairy Science and Technology Symposium 2023 consists of two different events:

  • An online symposium from June 19th to June 22nd, from 14:00 to 16.30 GMT each day, targeted equally at students of dairy science that are interested in the latest topics and dairy professionals from academia and industry.

The theme of this year’s Dairy Symposium is ‘Delivering with Dairy: from primary production to primary purpose.’

  • A summer school from June 19th to June 23rd, from 9:00 to 13.00 GMT each day, for early career researchers who want to strengthen their knowledge in dairy science and enhance their transferable skills. While the symposium will be held online (link will follow after registration), the summer school will be held in person at University College Cork, Ireland.

The AEDIL Dairy Academy brings together three key Dairy stakeholder groups (Researchers, Industry and Educators) in a collaborative learning and sharing space to share the latest research and contribute to the education and development of the next generation of Dairy Researchers and Teachers.

This year the Academy will delivery two integrated events:
