The dairy industry faces major challenges. Besides sustainability, livestock shrinkage and protein transition, for example, there is a large outflow of employees. There is also a shortage of jobseekers and too few young people are choosing to train in dairy.
How are we going to solve this problem?
Part of this shortage will be met by automation, robotisation and the application of digital techniques. However, this requires increasing knowledge and skills.
From Aedil (Association of European Dairy Industry Learning), an Erasmus+ project was defined together with eight other countries, with the aim of creating a Centre of Vocational Excellence (CoVe) in each country in the field of dairy. This CoVE sets to work to decisively address challenges in dairy.
How we will take up CoVE in the Netherlands and what our objectives are, that is something we would like to let you know at the Kickoff meeting on Thursday, March 9.
Furthermore, we will tell you about: Who are working together? What do we want to change? What is needed in business? What is needed in education? What do we need from politicians? And how can you contribute to this?
