Associated partner – Provides professional Dairy learning network

The Association or European Dairy Industry Learning brings together European organisations with responsibility for the vocational education and training in the Dairy sector. AEDIL promotes and supports the Dairy profession and Dairy education in Europe by means of allying national associations and coordination VET in the sector. Established in 1992 with currently 15 member countries and multiple partners per member country.

FMF (COO)

Coordinator and Project Management

The FMF will act as the Project Coordinator (COO) according to the terms as stated in the “Erasmus+ Programme Guide 2021”. The organisation will be in charge of setting up the administrative and economic procedures of the project.

The organisation will conduct the following work tasks:

  • Responsible of running the project management system
  • Administration and finance, quality ensuring system, evaluation, dissemination
Zentralverband Deutscher Milchwirtschaftler Ev

Beneficiary partner and project management Germany, Dairy network

ZDM represents the working personal in the German dairies with a Dairy education or upgraded skills. Our task is to develop the Dairy education all over Germany. The aim is, to improve the competitiveness of the German Dairy industry by developing and running special courses for permanent upgrading skills and knowledge for employees. In this case we work strongly together with the 6 national Dairy schools and 3 universities and the national and regional authorities.

Hochschule Hannover

Affiliated partner and bachelor and master programs and research institute

The Hochschule Hannover is the German university partner. They will partner in developing some special product-related and technological courses. The courses will run in the pilot plant of this partner.

Dmk Deutsches Milchkontor Gmbh

Affiliated partner and DMK will be the industrial partner for this project in Germany

DMK is the Dairy company with the most apprentices in Germany. In this function DMK works together with 3 Dairy schools from 6 Dairy schools in Germany. DMK is the largest Dairy company, with more than 7.700 employees. DMK processes milk at 17 sites in Germany. Two of the sites are located in Schleswig-Holstein near to Dairy school and pilot plant in Bad Malente.

LVZM will be the school partner in the German work package. In this function LVZM will be one of the providers of the planned special courses.

Siemens will be a partner for automatisation and digitalisation for this project in Germany.

Bursa Uludag Univesitesi

Beneficiary partner and, BUU is the managing and leading partner in the country

BUU will be responsible for communication and coordination with the other partners in Turkey, integration of the partners to the project, organisation and partition of work packages among the partners. BUU will be fully authorised reporting and sharing of project outputs with CoVE teams in other countries, exchanging information and activities and dissemination. BUU will provide advanced academic support at necessary points during the project (making job descriptions, creating training modules, developing virtual learning platforms, developing new training models, etc.) and will guide these stages of the project. BUU will provide its wide network in Dairy sector and its academic staffs experienced in Dairy industry and EU projects. BUU will be responsible for financial affairs, planning and the management of the project.

Sutas Sut Urunleri

Affiliated partner and representing SUTAS will be included in this project as a Dairy company partner of Turkey

Infrastructure and technical capacities of Sutas will be used to implement our project. Sutas is one of the largest Dairy companies in Turkey, its main plant is Dairy industry in Turkey located in the Marmara region in where Bursa Uludag University has been established. Sutas has the agreement protocol with BUU Karacabey Vocational School Department of Milk Products and Dairy Technology for the collaboration in development of vocational education for a long time.

Delivering services to Food Industry. The people involved in this project have experience about EU funded projects. The personnel of SETBIR have knowledge and experience in food sector.

The subject of the project is in line with SETBIR’s mission. We have experience with training matters. And also, we coordinated APPETITE project and we involved as a partner in SUIFOOD project under the Erasmus+ Programme. We can introduce and disseminate the project through our members.

Stichting Aeres Groep, EDE (GLD), NL

Beneficiary partner and in this project Aeres will coordinate the cooperation and activities between the Dutch partners in the project

Aeres will bring expertise on TVET education in general and food technology and Dairy technology in particular in this project. Aeres works closely together with other educational institutes, business and governments. These networks will contribute to this project for connecting people and organisations in order to learn, develop and innovate together. Staff and students will be involved in the execution of pilots. In this way Aeres will contribute to the exchange of knowledge between professionals and teachers and the development of training programs as an instrument for lifelong learning.

Aeres also has a lot of expertise in the field of new technologies and knowledge about innovative business processes. The core of this expertise is to stimulate professional agility. A professional attitude that allows students and employees to be able to constantly master the flow of innovations and new techniques, in the dynamics of the work process. Two specialists on this topic will participate in the project.

University of Belgrade, Faculty of Agriculture is the main participant in project and has a significant role in all activities planned during project realisation. University of Belgrade will be responsible for coordination and management of all activities and tasks realisation during project duration: The university will have the main role in analysis of knowledge needs of vocational education and training for specific target groups; Development innovative curricula for the purpose of work based learning for students and teachers; Development courses in order to improve Dairy, green and safety skills of Dairy staff and vocational teachers; Participation in international cooperation as well as in CoVE Board establishment. Organization has a lot of experience in realisation of different kind of projects including Erasmus, Horizon and other projects.

The Dairy School with Student’s Dormitory “Dr Obren Pejic” is important partner institution for project realisation due to fact that is unique secondary vocational school educate people for Dairy industry. They are key for activities for improvement of vocational education within Dairy sector for young generations as well as adults. The role of Dairy School will be visible through almost all activities planned during project implementation: They will participate with University in order to identify knowledge needs and gaps of VET in Dairy sector; In cooperation with University and Dairy company, they would work on improvement of curricula in order to introduce more work based learning; Teachers from Dairy School will be attending courses developed through project duration; School staff would participate in international cooperation as well as in CoVE Board establishment; Dairy School has been already participating in student’s mobility exchange within Erasmus project and hence has experience and capacity for project management.

Milk House Dairy plant is one of the key partner institution for project realisation. The role of Dairy plant will be visible through almost all activities planned during project implementation:

The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia (CCIS) has a lot of experience in realisation of many national and international projects in field of agriculture and sustainable food production. Role of CCIS in this project will be mostly based on the organisation of different courses developed through project.

The role of institution will be visible through almost all activities planned during project implementation: They will cooperate with university in order to identify knowledge needs and gaps of their own staff; They will participate in organisation of different courses developed through project duration; They would participate in international cooperation as well as in CoVE Board establishment; Organization has a lot of experience in realisation of different kind of projects including Erasmus, Horizon and other projects.

Institute For Science Application In Agriculture

Institute has a lot of experience in realisation of many national and international projects in field of agriculture and sustainable food production. Role of IPN in this project will be mostly based on the organisation of different courses developed through project. Experienced staff of IPN will participate also in realisation of task 1, international exchange and CoVE Board. The role of IPN will be visible through almost all activities planned during project implementation: They will cooperate with university in order to identify knowledge needs and gaps of their own staff; They will participate in organisation of different courses developed through project duration; IPN would participate in international cooperation as well as in CoVE Board establishment; Institute has a full capacity for operational and financial management of the project through work of different company services.

University College Cork - National University of Ireland, Cork

UCC is the BEN partner for Ireland. They will have overall responsibility for coordinating the activities of the intra-national Irish CoVE. This includes project management and reporting to the overall project manager, the steering committee and the Dairy Hub. UCC will contribute to all work packages in the project. Key elements of the UCC contribution include cocreation with other partners, design of the campaign for raising the profile of Dairy careers, the MSc in Dairy technology and the societal impact contribution from Ireland.

UCC will lead the research informed academy programme.

Teagasc - Agriculture and Food Development Authority

Affiliated partner national public body providing services to the to the agri-food industry and rural communities in Ireland

Teagasc at Clonakilty are a major player in the educational landscape of southern Ireland. They have vast experience in food programmes including scientific content and business and economic education. They will play an active part in the co-creation of material for the Irish intra-national COVE in conjunction with the other educational partners. They will help with the coordination of activities and specifically (and playing to their unique strengths) will design and deliver Dairy courses (including micro-credentials) to meet the local smart specialisation requirements. Teagasc agricultural college has a particular interest in advancing Dairy training for primary producers. Teagasc will also actively contribute shared learning materials to the Dairy Learning and Innovation hub. They will be involved in the networking activities of the CoVE as well as dissemination of results of the project.

Munster Technological University

Cork Education and Training Board

Affiliated partner and active as the statutory body in Cork with the responsibility to provide education and training across a broad range of services

CETB will put a project team in place to ensure that we contribute fully to the objectives of the project. This team will be led by our EU projects support officer, Gerald Brennan. We will nominate a representative to sit on, the steering committee for the Dairy Centre of Vocational Excellence. Actively contribute to the development of a “Dairy professional development” profile. This task will identify the current training provision (at all levels) in Munster that is relevant to the Dairy industry, identify gaps and strengths, opportunities and needs for new courses. We will develop or cooperate in the development of new courses as needed at the appropriate level. We will also look at the industry needs (present and future) and map these against the provision. And work to develop a template to have clear progression “pathways” into the Dairy industry from all NFQ levels.

Agricultural University of Athens

The Laboratory of Dairy Research, AUA, will participate in WP 6 “Research Informed”. In particular, it will contribute to (a) the development of a training school and the associated learning material, by providing online resources designed as a major training hub for early career European Dairy researchers and (b) the organisation of an annual event, consisting of a “summer school” style training event combined with a research conference, where the students and ECRS will be the major organisers and participants, joined by senior Dairy researchers and industry personnel where relevant.

They are a key stakeholder in the Irish CoVE and international Programme. They will contribute to all work packages in the programme with a particular emphasis on the coming together, working together and growing together elements. They have ambitions in the development of high-level research skills (The MSs) and in promoting Dairy as an attractive career choice for young people. They also have a strong tradition of working with the BEN partner UCC in the Dairy processing technology centre.

Kold College

Beneficiary partner and project management Denmark, Dairy network

As a TVET provider, Kold will select resource teacher and project management to contribute to designing of curriculum, test and evaluation of initiatives from the project, organising a Dairy education which is in sync with the demand of the Dairy industry. In workshops and other cooperation with the partner group we will contribute with a TVET school perspective. Kold is involved as an educational entity and will provide knowledge of Dairy education and school management. Kold is the Danish CoVE-coordinator.

EUROPEL

Europel is an association for Dairy Teachers representative of European Dairy teachers and institutes. The aim of the association is to exchange and share information on education in Dairy Technology. To learn from each other in terms of subjects as well as in learning methods and to exchange students for projects or educational programs. Yearly is a sensorial contest for Dairy products organised for students, and symposia for students and teachers. Members are institutes or individuals from vocational level to university (MSc) level, teaching Dairy Technology, and often general food technology.

UCL University College

Affiliated partner and developing new courses in cooperation with the Dairy industry

UCL will participate in the development of teaching courses and teaching materials for Dairy educations at several levels, with inclusion competencies both in relation to food, Dairy, digitisation and automation. We will include the project in our work to create greater dialogue between the food / Dairy education and the digitisation / automation educations. UCL will also participate in the work of creating the opportunity to move vertically in the food / Dairy educations, so that a Dairyman has the opportunity to become a Dairy engineer via a Process Technology education (with specialisation in dairy).

Arla Foods will participate through the expertise of Supply Chain Learning which is a part of the HR-function. Supply Chain Learning’s areas of responsibility include apprenticeship programs within production, maintenance and logistics as well as life long learning for the employees who are not employed in apprenticeship positions.

Arla Foods is a member of AEDIL Steering Committee and therefore part of the quality assurance of the project.

Københavns Universitet

Affiliated partner and helping developing new courses and new research programmes

UCPH FOOD is a research led organisation with a 100 year tradition in Dairy training. Offers a MSc in Dairy and Technology which includes work based learning as part of the curriculum. UCPH FOOD will ensure that training provided is at the forefront of the knowledge. UCPH FOOD will be an integral part of the Danish CoVE to ensuring high level training. UCPH FOOD will also participate at the researcher training by organising an event and also contributing to relevant training activities.

Danish Dairy Apprenticeship Committee will provide knowledges and technical assistance to the project and ensure interaction with Dairy companies when needed and facilitate policy and advocacy space for the Danish CoVE. Danish Dairy Apprenticeship Committee will offer payment in kind to the project by providing staff time.

Anfopeil - Reseau Des Enil

Since 1972, the association ANFOPEIL has linked national public Dairy schools, their alumni and the Dairy sector. Directors of ENIL (Ecole Nationale d’Industrie Laitière) and Presidents of their alumni, Directors of ATLA (Association de la Transformation LAitière) and representatives from Dairy companies’ compose the governance board of the association. Each year a General Assembly and an Executive Board meeting are organized in order to take strategic decisions and to inform stakeholders about activities of ANFOPEIL. The funding of ANFOPEIL come from commercial activities (training, consulting, engineering …) with private Dairy companies. The main aim of ANFOPEIL is to provide life-long training for Dairy workers. This Vocational Education Training organisation develops training courses and manages short or long inhouse training courses or training courses in the pedagogical workshops of public Dairy schools. The quality management system of ANFOPEIL is certified in compliance with official French Quality VET standard QUALIOPI.

ATLA

ATLA is an association born in 1983 which brings together the 2 federations of Dairy processing which have pooled their skills and a large part of their resources: the National Federation of Dairy Industries (FNIL) and the Dairy Agricultural Cooperation. This association deals with “downstream” issues related to industrial processing and marketing of Dairy products.

Its objectives are: To observe, study and carry out research concerning strategic economic, technical, regulatory, legal, social or fiscal issues of interest to Dairy processing companies; To carry out consultations and give opinions on these subjects; To ensure, where applicable, in the fields of its competence, the representation of French Dairy processing companies to all the public and professional bodies concerned.

Ecole D'industrie Laitiere

The National School of Dairy Industry (ENIL) in Mamirolle is a Local Public Institution for Agricultural Vocational Education and Training under the Ministry of Agriculture. It prepares students, apprentices and adults for diplomas from level 4 to 6 in the fields of food / Dairy processing, laboratory / analyzes, water / effluent management.

This school, founded in 1888, is part of the ENIL Network (National School of Dairy Industry) which brings together 6 public Dairy schools spread across the country and specializing in the trades of Dairy processing.

Teaching in ENILs is characterized by its very professional character. The training takes place all or part of the educational workshops. At Mamirolle, it is more than 1 million liters of milk per year transformed into various Dairy products (butter, yogurts, etc.) and cheeses (soft cheeses, pressed cheeses, processed cheese, etc.). These real “business – school” are subject to the same operating rules as any Dairy workshop: sanitary approval, good hygiene practices, traceability, compliance with a single document, etc.

Colegiul Tehnic De Industrie Alimentara

Food Industry Technical College Suceava is one of the biggest schools with about 1100 pupils and 70 teachers. The profiles of our school were diversified in the last years in order to offer pupils more opportunities. Now we have, beside food industry main profile, also natural resources and environment protection, tourism and alimentation, agrotourism, mechatronics, electronics and automation profiles. In the years 1975-1991 it was the only high school with food industry profile from the east region of Romania. The school provided all the food industry workers for all the nearby counties. Our school is appreciated for the teaching quality. The school teachers involve pupils in many competitions, debates, exhibitions, local and national projects and many extra-curricular activities. We are part of the Eco-School National Program. Our school is extremely interested in developing Comenius and Leonardo da Vinci Partnerships or other kind of collaboration with European schools.

Currently, the “Dunărea de Jos” University of Galați has 14 faculties and prepares students for undergraduate, master’s and doctoral studies in various fields (technical, humanistic, economic, health, artistic). The “Dunărea de Jos” University of Galați organizes the second cycle of studies lasting two years for the graduates of the first cycle. Within the “Dunărea de Jos” University of Galați, doctoral studies are carried out in 12 fields, under the coordination of 85 doctoral supervisors. The “Dunărea de Jos” University of Galaţi assumes the mission of generating and transferring knowledge to society through: initial training and continuous training at university and postgraduate level, in order to develop the individual, the professional insertion of the individual and to satisfy the competence need of the socio-economic environment; scientific research, development, innovation and technological transfer, through individual and collective creation, in the fields of science, engineering, economics, arts, letters, humanities, medical sciences, legal sciences, by ensuring performance and physical and sports development, as well as capitalizing on and disseminating their results.
